Woodbury, NY, August 03, 2022 — SterlingRisk, a leading privately held US insurance broker, has announced its partnership with Sterling Edwards Enterprises (SEE), a newly launched operational and financial risk advisory firm. SEE will be the first black-owned member of the SterlingRisk family of companies and one of the newest among the nation’s small but growing number of minority-owned insurance brokerage and advisory firms. The company will focus on providing partners with enterprise risk, workforce resilience, training and awareness, and asset protection solutions to help minimize financial and operational risk. Nationally recognized executive and co-founder Maurice Edwards will serve as President, bringing more than 25 years of experience to the post. SterlingRisk CEO David Sterling made the announcement.

“SterlingRisk is excited to welcome Maurice Edwards and announce the formation of and partnership with Sterling Edwards Enterprises,” stated Sterling. “The new entity meets a need in the B2B marketplace for bespoke advisory services delivered by a diverse team led by one of the foremost experts in the industry. We look forward to expanding the SEE footprint and collaborating with our partners to help manage risks globally.”

Before joining SterlingRisk and launching Sterling Edwards Enterprises, Edwards served as Chief Risk and Compliance Officer for one of the nation’s largest e-commerce, omnichannel, and Powersports retailers. His responsibilities included enterprise risk management, legal and compliance, procurement, corporate security, internal audit, and asset protection. Prior, Edwards worked in senior executive roles as President of a global division of a $35 billion retail holding company, Senior Vice President of Enterprise Risk for a national retailer in the home furnishings segment, and Vice President of Asset Protection and Field Operations. A graduate of Bellevue University, he holds certifications as a Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Forensic Interviewer, Certified Homeland Security IV, and Lean-Six Sigma.

“As a 25-year operations executive — and minority supplier in the B2B context — I bring diverse perspectives and leadership to the host of resources we draw upon to deliver personalized, boutique-style solutions for our partners,” Edwards explained. “Our team encompasses enterprise risk, asset protection, operations, supply chain, and financial experts, enabling SEE to advise on various operational and financial improvement programs. Our services will target small to large organizations across various industries, working with C-level management executives and business owners focused on the bottom line. They recognize how overlooked or minimally managed risks can adversely impact their enterprises and want solutions. That’s where SEE comes in. We have the solutions — quantifiable and far-reaching. We’re passionate about collaborating with our partners to help their companies run more effectively.”
